Company Profile

MADE.COM brings original designs to the masses by revolutionising the furniture retail market. The site enables consumers to vote and group-buy furniture direct from factories, at a fraction of the high street price. Each product is crowdsourced before being made to order and shipped direct from the factory to the consumer, cutting out the middleman, and eliminating wastage and warehousing costs.

The team at MADE.COM are obsessive about design and passionate about customers. They work with specialist furniture makers who often create furniture for designer brands. All items selected for the site are handpicked and adhere to strict quality control guidelines. Consumers can choose from a range of furniture, including sofas, chairs, tables, lighting and artwork.

MADE.COM's revenues have been growing very quickly since the launch. They are now a 30 staff team split between London and Shanghai offices.

Product Description

MADE.COM specialises in crowdsourcing products and optimising logistics through group buying to offer consumers beautiful and imaginative items of furniture for a significantly reduced cost. Through connecting consumers directly with furniture makers, consumers are able to make savings.

The site has a number of specific functions which include:

  • 'Labs' enables consumers to vote for items that make it into the collection for purchase. Votes are cast based on price and design, with the top ten items making it into the online sales brochure.
